Search for the next Rector Update from July 21, 2010
The Discernment Committee has concluded four rounds of candidate evaluations and has reduced the number of candidates remaining in the process to six.  Our evaluations have been conducted on the basis of experience, competencies, theological values, preaching, and responses to questions.

We are presently in contact with these candidates and expect to begin conducting videoconferences within the next few days.  Following these video interviews, members of the Discernment Committee will make site visits to the remaining candidates.  The timing of these visits will depend on availability of candidates, taking into account their vacation schedules.

At our site visits, we expect to have two-day meetings with the candidates, including two interview sessions, two informal meals together, and worship with the candidate preaching.

Following the site visits, we expect that we will further reduce the number of active candidates. By then we will have contacted references and also performed background checks. These final candidates and spouses will be invited to visit the campus here in Paoli, check out the local schools, and of course have several meetings with the entire Discernment Committee.

Following the visits of these candidates, we expect to make our final discernment of one candidate, and will submit that name to the Vestry at that time.

We are very excited about each one of these candidates. While they’re all quite different, they are all deeply committed Christians with significant gifts to offer our parish and the Church at large. We believe the Holy Spirit has been evident in our deliberations as well as in the candidates themselves.

It is our privilege to serve the parish as your Discernment Committee. We continue to be aware of all those who are praying for us, and we are profoundly grateful.
