Amnion Visits Good Sam

Amnion will kick off their annual Baby Bottle fundraising campaign on September 22. (Their campaign is one of two Baby Bottle fundraisers, the other for YoungLives conducted in the Spring.) Please stop by their table – or during the week in the office – and pick up a bottle. We hope many bottles will be returned a few weeks later – full, of course! – to support the important ministry.

In addition to the usual program services (see their website for details on their work and ministry), recently they sent an update that included important upcoming events:

  • This fall, they will hold an 8-week "Surrendering the Secret" session to help those who have unresolved feelings and unsettling emotions from a past abortion. Surrendering the Secret is a free and confidential support group and Bible study with women who share this experience. If you or someone you know would be interested in this life-changing program, please contact our Client Advocate Max Baker Jackson at mjackson@amnion.org or call 610-622-9957.
  • Amnion is currently seeking to hire a new RealEd team for this school year. Both a speaker and coordinator position are available. We look forward with expectation to who the Lord will bring to fill these needs to serve our local youth well with a message of worth and healthy decision-making. (Job description
  • The ministry's 36th Annual Fundraising Banquet will take place on Tuesday, October 22 at Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill from 6-9pm. The fundraising banquet includes client testimonies, an inspiring guest speaker, and an opportunity to give to Amnion’s life-affirming mission. This year, the keynote speaker is Melissa Ohden. Melissa is an abortion survivor, a master's level in social work, and the author of "You Carried Me: A Daughter's Memoir." She is the Founder and Director of The Abortion Survivors Network and is a frequent contributor to pro-life news outlets. Melissa's story is one that displays the power of love, hope, healing, and forgiveness. It is a story that gives a voice to the voiceless and is one that is not to be missed. To register for the banquet please visit FriendsOfAmnion.org. If interested in hosting a table for the banquet or in becoming a banquet sponsor, please contact Shelby Smith at ssmith@amnion.org or call 610-622-9832.

In addition to updates, Amnion sends these prayer requests so we can be in supportive prayer for their ministry:

Please pray for the upcoming session of "Surrendering the Secret", that women in need of this healing and freedom would enroll in the program and that God would work through our counselor to bring lasting change to these women’s lives.

Pray that God would bring the right people to apply for the RealEd positions and that He would give the hiring team wisdom in their decisions. Ask that this new team would have a great impact on the lives of our local youth with their refreshing message of worth and healthy decision-making in relationships.

Pray that the Lord would bless our fundraising banquet with attendees and a smooth planning process. Ask that He would raise up the funds needed to aid Amnion in continuing in its mission to serve our community with love and life-affirming care.

As always, pray for our clients and our community. Ask that God would direct those to Amnion in their time of need where they can be cared for and supported. Pray that our clients would choose life for their children and that they too would find abundant life in trusting Jesus as their Savior.

Stop by their table Sunday the 22nd and pick up a baby bottle!
