As in the Days of Noah
"....as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the son of man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. This is how it will be at the coming of the son of man." Mathew 24:37-39.
As in the days of Noah, nothing has changed. Noah lived at a time when evil ran rampant on the earth... "The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time" (Gen.6:5), and the Lord instructed Noah to make an ark for himself, his family, and the living creatures the Lord would send to him. (Gen.6:18-19).
Granted, people around him laughed, scoffed and mocked. “Why build an ark? You must be crazy doing and believing such a thing... It’s never even rained before!" They must have said!
Noah faced criticism, ridicule and rejection. But he faithfully did as the Lord instructed him.
Beloved, as you faithfully toil in the word, in prayer, in worship, in giving, in service, in witnessing, in acts of kindness, in believing faith and love, and faithfully obeying the instructions the Lord has given us in His word, you too will face the same criticism, rejection and ridicule as Noah did. "Why bother? Some may laugh. “Do you really believe that stuff?" Others may say. “Come on, it's been over two thousand years... do you think He is really coming back???"
But the downpour came, and so did the final word. Go into the ark. All the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened and the earth in that time was destroyed.
