FOCUS @ Good Sam Nov 3
FOCUS’ ministry to independent schools provides a place for middle and high school students to explore the Christian faith in a way that is winsome, fun, intellectually sound, and eminently practical. Students from various faith backgrounds attend FOCUS meetings to investigate the claims, work, and person of Jesus Christ. Through thoughtful conversations and relationships with students, parents and faculty, FOCUS seeks to provide a place for students to explore a life of faith.
Sunday, November 3, Brendon Grech, the Philadelphia area FOCUS director, along with Annette Toebe, Good Sam’s FOCUS advocate, will be at the 9am and 11am church services. They will have a table in the atrium after both services, as well as attend Sunday lunch in the atrium.
This fall, FOCUS is transitioning out of Summer Programs and into their local Philadelphia ministry. During the summer months, FOCUS provides various Summer Programs, from week-long programs on Martha’s Vineyard to specialty and service trips. Locally, FOCUS offers weekly meetings at ten schools in the Philadelphia area and they expect more than 500 students to attend these meetings throughout the year. During these meetings, students and leaders look at Bible passages and discuss the plausibility and relevancy of the Christian faith for teenagers today.
Brendon would appreciate our prayers for the FOCUS ministry, and specifically for two upcoming events. First, November 22-24 is their fall weekend program, “Princeton Weekend,” where high school students spend a weekend together discussing the Bible, hanging out with friends, and getting some much-needed downtime. "Please pray that God would use this weekend for his purposes." Secondly, area FOCUS will be hosting an alumni event in November to connect with multiple generations of FOCUS alumni. "Please pray specifically that college students would attend and for them to get connected into churches if they haven't already."
Please stop by the FOCUS table Sunday, November 3 to meet Brendon and learn more about FOCUS. Learn more about FOCUS at their website.
