Greetings from Summerville, SC

Hello to y’all from beautiful Summerville, South Carolina!  Time for an update and for thanksgivings!  Michael and I miss our Good Samaritan community. We have been so blessed and humbled by your many prayers and kind words of encouragement as we continue to settle into the new season of life God has provided for us in the home of our hearts.

We had a chance to say “thanks” to many of you personally before we left Pennsylvania, but we’re sending heartfelt thanksgivings to you again for the joy we had in serving with you for more than 11 years.

The Women’s Ministry breakfast celebration on August 19 and the Evensong service on September 21 in celebration of my ministry at Good Sam are treasured memories; I give great thanks to God for our shared time together.

Your gift of the counted cross-stitch rendering of the Good Samaritan window in the Chapel is stunning; I’ve sent along a picture of it. This beautiful piBeverly and needlepointece of art was crafted by Kevin Crumpler, one of Susan and Stew Crumpler’s sons, over a period of 9 months or so.  We will hang it by our front door so that all who enter our home will see it and be blessed.  We’re also humbled and so very grateful for your generous purse contributions.

We are blessed to be living now in a town that is home to the Sweet Tea Festival (the “champagne of the South”) and the springtime Flowertown Festival.  You can look on-line to see the many activities that are a part of community life here. Summerville is a friendly country town at heart, set in an area that is growing.  Many people have lived here their whole life.

Our new church home, St. Paul’s Summerville, also has a website. We’ve been welcomed warmly and are getting to know folks. We attended the Ministries Fair recently—a great opportunity to help us discern where God is calling us to serve here. St. Paul’s is home to the Junia Chapter of the Order of the Daughters of the King; the chapter has just started a training class for new members and I will assist with that.

We would enjoy hearing from you so please stay in touch. We’re at 128 Mohican Circle, Summerville, SC 29483; my email is michaelberry1@verizon.net. Please know all the good folks of Good Samaritan remain in our prayers.  May you always know God’s abundant blessings, and His peace and love, as you follow the path He has for you.

Much love in Christ,

Beverly and Michael
