Jonathan Hobbs appointed to Lead Youth Ministry Department at Eastern University

I am delighted to announce that Jonathan Hobbs has been appointed to head up the Youth Ministry Department at Eastern University starting this fall. Sadly, this means he will no longer be serving here on our staff, but Kimberly Lindquist will take over the leadership of our Family Ministries, and Brynn Schmidt will be leading our Youth Ministries.

Jonathan has faithfully served Good Samaritan for twelve years. While I am sad to see him go from Good Samaritan's staff team, he and his family are planning to remain a part of our church family. So it's goodbye, but more 'thank you' than goodbye. We look forward to recognizing him formally at or following the fall kick off.

One of Jonathan’s gifts has been developing excellent teams for the ministries that he has led, and so his transition should actually be amazingly smooth. Kimberly has been running the day to day operations of the Children's Ministry alongside Jonathan and is excited to take the reins in the fall and develop new ways of connecting with young families in our community. Brynn interned with us during her senior year at Eastern University and was already acting as Associate Director. She will be coached and will receive ongoing education from the Center for Youth Ministry Training (cymt.org) as part of a comprehensive program that will lead to her gaining a Masters degree in Youth Ministry.

Jonathan has brought tremendous creative energy, great skills in volunteer engagement, and an increasingly broad and wide range of leadership gifts to Good Samaritan. I've appreciated his worship leading and preaching talents as well as everything that he has brought to our Family and Youth Ministries here at Good Samaritan. Thank you Jonathan!
