New roles for Dwight Wilson and Jeanne Lomanno
As you know, Jeff Moretzsohn has resigned as Parish Administrator and begun a CPE residency at Jefferson hospital.
Dwight Wilson had increasingly been working alongside Jeff as a volunteer with the intent of taking the load off Jeff in his Parish Administrator role. Had Jeff stayed on staff, we were slowly working towards Jeff handing off financial responsibilities to Dwight. That timescale was brought forward after Jeff was offered this great opportunity at Jefferson.
In addition to financial responsibilities, I've also asked Dwight to be take the lead on HR matters. He has many years of professional experience in HR and will be invaluable to us.
Dwight will serve as an unpaid staff member as our 'Financial and HR administrator'. He will regularly be in the office on Tuesdays and other times as suits.
I'm not inclined to immediately look to replace Jeff with another Parish Administrator. It will be good for us to figure out exactly what the gaps are that Jeff leaves and how best to fill them moving forward and what kind of hire might be needed or appropriate. I think taking time over this will serve us better than rushing into a new hire too quickly.
For the time being then, following a discussion with the wardens last night, I am asking Jeanne Lomanno to increase her hours from half time to full time for the interim. She will be 'Office Manager and Assistant to the Rector'. She has a fantastic attitude and will serve us well.
In the absence of a parish administrator I will plan on attending the HR, Finance and Facilities committees.
Jeff is still our deacon and remains the team leader for Mission and Outreach. The only change to our org chart is that Tad, Dwight, Jeanne and Barb all become direct reports to me and so I will essentially be the 'Resource' team leader in terms of quarterly reports to the vestry.
