Scripture Union's SuperKids & PrimeTime

For several years Good Samaritan, via the Mission Committee, has provided financial support to the ministries of Scripture Union. With headquarters in nearby Valley Forge, Scripture Union is perhaps best known for its scripture-study and daily devotional materials such as “Encounter With God” and “Discovery.” Several Good Samaritan parishioners use the valuable resources. To learn more about Scripture Union, visit their website.  Donna Roulston of our congregation is the “advocate” for Scripture and she also can provide information.

In addition to these scripture materials, Scripture Union also reaches young people through school-year and summer programs. “PrimeTime” is a faith-based after-school program for 6-12-year-olds. “SuperKids” organizes one or two-week events where a team of volunteers share God’s Word with children wherever they are: From public beaches, parks and playgrounds, camps or any other location where children gather.

Lisa Mendez is the Mid-Atlantic Director for Scripture Union, with offices in Philadelphia. Recently, she sent along a newsletter featuring information about many of their activities this summer. That newsletter, which contains many pictures is available here.
