Water Mission Hurricane Dorian Relief Effort
Water Mission’s disaster response team and equipment are now en route, and they're collaborating with their partners and local municipalities on the ground to provide clean, safe water to as many people as possible.
Tragically, reports from the field continue to reveal greater devastation.
Water Mission (WM) wants to keep you updated on the relief efforts you're helping make possible. Here is the latest news:
WM is sending shipments of water treatment solutions, generators, and other supplies via boat and plane to some of the hardest hit areas, including Marsh Harbor, Elbow Cay, and Green Turtle Cay.
There are little or no freshwater sources in these areas, so WM will use a specialized water purification system for saltwater called reverse osmosis to meet the urgent need for safe water, providing up to 35,000 gallons a day.
WM is working with corporate partners in the U.S. and NGO partners in the Bahamas to provide emergency solutions as quickly as possible.
Thank you for lifting the survivors and Water Mission teams up in prayer and supporting the relief efforts. WM has met the $75,000 match from generous partners at the Turner Foundation Inc. and the Jane Smith Turner Foundation and are grateful to the Friess family for promising to match an additional $1,000,000 of relief gifts in a grant for the Hurricane Dorian response.
Please visit watermission.org/hurricanedorian to double the impact of your gift and share the opportunity with your family and friends. 100% of your gift will be matched and will directly help those in dire need.
Thank you for your partnership and support. Your gift brings hope in the midst of this heartbreaking tragedy.
