YoungLives Baby Bottle Campaign at Good Samaritan Raises Nearly $1,100!
YoungLives Delaware Valley, organized in 2004, seeks to glorify God by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through entering the lives of teen moms in the Greater Philadelphia Area. The group’s desire is that every pregnant and parenting teen in the Delaware Valley have a YoungLives club in their area in which they can take part. Currently, they run programs in six communities - Norristown, West Chester, and Chester. There are also three locations in Philadelphia - Olney, North Broad Street and Kensington. Good Samaritan’s “advocate” for YoungLives is Pam Bennett.
Good Samaritan has supported YoungLives for many years as a supported ministry and through the special Baby Bottle Campaign, which this year raised $1,096 for the organization. When you see those baby bottles distributed on Mother’s Day, be generous and return them the next Father’s Day to once again help.
YoungLives once again held their annual summer camp for teen moms and their children in August. According to Delaware Valley Regional Coordinator Debbie Perkins, “It was a GREAT week!” Twenty three teen moms and their babies came. Many of them made commitments to Christ for the first time, and there were some re-commitments to the faith as well. The week was bathed in prayer and everyone was grateful that there was no drama between groups this year.
YoungLives asks that we pray:
- Joining them in giving Thanks for a successful summer camp;
- That the group in Camden would get YoungLives started there;
- For wisdom as we look towards starting two new clubs in Philadelphia;
- For more leaders and mentors in all our clubs;
- For the healing of a leader in Phoenixville who is experiencing health issues with her eye.
