Worship With Us
We'd love for you to come and worship with us on a Sunday. It can be quite intimidating walking into a new church for the first time, especially if you're not used to churches.
Our main service is at 9am and our contemporary service ('New Chapel') at 11am. We have two more traditional services in the old church (the Chapel) at 7.30am and 11am.
We'd like to make that experience as easy as possible - and give you a bit of a heads up as to what to expect. We love visitors - we will give you a warm welcome but not smother you; if you want to connect with people there is a welcome table in the main entrance atrium - please come and introduce yourself - and stay for coffee or lunch; if you want to come and sit quietly and observe and slip straight out at the end of a service you can do that too.
Where do I park?
We have plenty of parking. The church is on a 14 acre lot, and much of that is given over to parking - so you won't have a problem. On really busy weekends (think Easter) we park some cars on the grass - but it will be obvious. If you don't know where our church is here are the directions.
What do I wear?
All sorts of people worship at Good Sam - young and old, college students and retirees, singles and people with large families. Our dress preferences are as diverse as we are. Please come just as you are - people are wearing everything from suits to sweat pants and Phillies tees. As a very rough guide people worshipping in the chapel or at 9am are a little smarter (think what you'd wear out for dinner) and at New Chapel (11am in church) a little more casual (think what you'd wear to go to the mall).
What about my kids?
Infants through Kindergarten age children have care and activities throughout both the 9am and 11am services. Elementary age children (1st-4th) have worship, teaching and small groups during the 9am and 11am services but return to church to join their parents for communion. Club 56 for 5th and 6th graders also meets during both service times. Some parents like to have their children with them throughout the worship and that is fine too. More details about children's ministry on a Sunday are here. If you are planning on worshipping with us and your children have not been with us before you can pre-register them - which will mean that we already have your emergency contact details and can have a name badge ready for them - or you can just turn up.
Middle schoolers (grades 7 - 8) have 'Middle School Bible Study' as an option during the 9am service. Otherwise Middle and High School students worship in the main services (most middle and high schoolers sit together for worship at New Chapel at 11am).
Where's the Entrance?
If you're coming to one of the services in the main church it's obvious - there a large entrance into an Atrium, and once inside you bear right to get into the church. In the atrium there's a 'Welcome' table - where there are some greeters who will welcome you and can answer any questions you might have. If you're coming to a service in the chapel, the entrance is nearer route 30. From the main entrance follow the sidewalk away from the main church building and you will get to the Chapel and Day School entrance.
