The Youth Ministries at the Church of the Good Samaritan are for anyone in 6th-12th grade. Our ministry to teenagers can be divided into three main elements: Sunday mornings, Sunday afternoons, and Retreats & Events. Each part of the ministry works together to provide life-changing lessons and experiences, helping students grow into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to see our teenagers become men and women of God. We want them to be leaders in their schools and communities.
We believe that an authentic faith is a faith that impacts every aspect of our lives. In this ministry, we do our best to help guide teenagers into living that out.
During the 9:00 Service, we offer a discipleship option for Middle School students (7th and 8th graders) called “Middle School Bible Study.” The Class meets from 9:00 to 9:45 in room 258. Students should come directly to the classroom. After class, the students join their parents in the church during the Peace.
If their parents choose to go to the adult class option at 11:00, the students are invited to come to the New Chapel contemporary service. That service’s Peace takes place around 11:45 which is right when the adult class ends, making it easy for the students to leave and meet up again with their parents.
For students whose parents don’t go to the 9:00 service, they are invited to join us at 9:00, and then hang out until the 10:30 fellowship time starts in Ashton Hall.
Sunday Afternoons: Youth Group
On Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 6:00 students experience a combination of games, worship, a challenging talk, and have time within a small group. Sunday night is the place to invite friends, hang out, and have fun. We debrief our week that passed and gear up for the coming week. The worship is led by a student praise band and the lessons are biblically-based and relevant to daily life.
