Music and the Arts

Violin and Piano

Augustine once said that the person who sings prays twice. We believe that God loves to see His people worship together in spirit and truth and that everything we do in worship should be done as an excellent sacrifice to Him. Our music, as well as our dance and our visual arts are an important part of our worship - they allow us to engage with God a 'second' time - beyond the purely verbal.

We also celebrate the fact that there are many tools within music and art that can be used in the setting of corporate worship that will draw together the many diverse parts of the body of Christ. Get involved!

The Choir rehearses Thursdays September - June.

The choir for the 9:00 service learn music from Bach to Britten as well as many outstanding contemporary works. The choir is a weekly picture or microcosm of the body of Christ, working together to bring an excellent sacrifice with beautiful choral music. We are anticipating a great season of worship with weekly anthems as well as special concert events.

New Chapel Band

The New Chapel Band leads the worship music at our  Contemporary 11:15 service. The band mainly uses guitars, bass and drums, keyboard and vocals along with a mix of some great new worship songs and some classic hymns to create a new sound, all worshiping our God.
