Mission Partnerships

missions

As a "missional" church we accept, embrace and seek to foster the premise that the work of missions is to walk out the word in the world by a) participating in and supporting mission and outreach ministries; b) serving those in need, locally, nationally and internationally.

As the resurrected Jesus prepares to ascend to his heavenly throne he instructs his followers one last time to "go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:13). Matthew’s account calls us to; "go and make disciples of all nations…" (Matt 28:19). Arguably, these final words provide the church with its mandate until Christ’s return, The "Great Commission" remains a focal point of our call here at Good Samaritan.

St. Francis of Assisi wrote; "preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words." These are prophetic words which challenge each of us at Good Samaritan to "BE" the good Samaritan, in word and deed we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ in a broken world. "What good is it my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food, if one of you says to him, "Go I wish you well; keep warm and well fed? But does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." (James 2:14-18).
