Good Samaritan from the Parking Lot

Our church is blessed with generous resources of property, people and finances. There are plenty of ways to get involved and support the administrative ministries of our church. As well as office volunteers, there are people involved in helping write for our various parish communications, people counting and posting parishioner contributions, people serving on various committees etc... we would love to hear from you.

Communications

Barb Hohorst is responsible for overseeing our church communications. Among other things, she produces the bulletins, our weekly email news, the 'Good Samaritan' magazine and updates our website. She's always looking for good content and ideas - so if you're a writer or a photographer she'd love to hear from you.

Property

We're blessed with a large and well-maintained property. It's been developed in pieces over more than a hundred years so it can be a little hard to navigate your way around - there's a map here. Our most recent capital campaign - 'For Another Generation' resulted in pledges of nearly $3 million - and will result in us becoming debt free on our property, and being able to undertake some much needed renovation work in the Day School. Connor Gisel and a team of three others are responsible for the upkeep of our buildings. The Property Committee reviews the ongoing needs and priorities of our campus facilities.

Human Resources

Our most valuable resource is the people who work for us. You can read more about them on the staff page for church and on the staff page for our day school. To help us implement the best employment practices we have a human resources committee.

Finances

We're able to continue the ministry we have as a church because of the generous giving of the members of the Church of the Good Samaritan. We don't have large endowments - our budget is balanced nearly entirely on the basis of year to year giving by parishioners. Learn how you can play your part by visiting our Giving page. Our finance committee works with Betsy Wolford to ensure sound financial management of the parish. We also have an investment committee. Betsy can help with practical matters of giving and giving records etc...
