Stewardship Sunday Nov 28

Our Stewardship Sunday will again be the Sunday following Thanksgiving, November 28th. We will gather as one church in a combined service at 10:30am. It's a wonderful opportunity to bring our pledges up together in a corporate expression of our life together as a church family at Good Samaritan. We will be sending out a letter and pledge cards nearer the 28th, but can I encourage you to prayerfully consider over the next month your gifts of time, talent, and treasure as we share together in building Christ's church.

For me, stewardship begins with gratitude. I'm grateful for all that God has provided me with. Most importantly: new life in Jesus Christ. When I consider what God has entrusted me with, it fills my heart with joy, and gives me a good perspective on what I have and how I use it.

Over the next three Sundays we'll be hearing the perspectives of three members of the Church of the Good Samaritan in some short testimonies. I hope they serve to encourage us, as we seek to stir one another to good deeds. If you miss a Sunday, these testimonies will be available on YouTube, and we'll send the links to those out with our mid-week email following the Sunday we shared them.

Perhaps hearing the stories of others will encourage you to bring your own story before the Lord in prayer. Stewardship is, after all, first and foremost an act of worship. There's no obligation, just joyful giving as each one decides in their own heart with the Lord what they should give.

I pray that this stewardship season would be a time of blessing for you. In our 'Year of Prayer,' I hope it will be an opportunity to bring all of ourselves to God in prayer and gratitude and be able to offer the whole of our lives back to him.
