Maundy Thursday Eucharist

The Thursday of Holy Week is called Maundy Thursday, from the Latin mandatum—a new commandment. Four things happen on this night:

  • Footwashing to recall Christ’s servanthood,
  • Giving of coins to recall his betrayal,
  • Eucharist to participate in the Last Supper,
  • The stripping of the altar.

We depart in darkened silence. A service not to be missed!
