Maundy Thursday Eucharist
The Thursday of Holy Week is called Maundy Thursday, from the Latin mandatum—a new commandment. Four things happen on this night:
- Footwashing to recall Christ’s servanthood,
- Giving of coins to recall his betrayal,
- Eucharist to participate in the Last Supper,
- The stripping of the altar.
We depart in darkened silence. A service not to be missed!
