The 1876 Society

For 150 years, The Church of the Good Samaritan has been blessed by generations of faithful parishioners whose gifts of time, talent, and treasure have nurtured our parish and strengthened our ministry.

Generosity has made Good Sam the vibrant community of worship, fellowship, learning, and service we know today. As we celebrate our rich history, we also look to the future. Through The 1876 Society, parishioners and friends have an opportunity to help ensure that future generations will experience the same welcoming community of faith that has enriched our own lives.

Legacy giving is not reserved for those of great wealth. Every planned gift—regardless of size—is a testament to faith, gratitude, and hope for the future.

What Is Planned Giving?

Planned giving is one way we continue our stewardship beyond our lifetime. By including the Church of the Good Samaritan in your will, trust, retirement account, life insurance policy, or other estate plans, you can leave a lasting expression of your faith and gratitude while helping ensure that Good Sam's ministry continues for generations to come.

Become a Member of The 1876 Society

Parishioners and friends who choose to share that they have included The Church of the Good Samaritan in their estate plans are warmly welcomed as members of The 1876 Society.

As a member, you will:

  • Receive an 1876 Society lapel pin.
  • Be invited to an annual 1876 Society gathering.
  • Be recognized—unless you prefer anonymity. The amount and details of your gift will always remain confidential.

Planning Your Legacy

The Church of the Good Samaritan does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Because every family's circumstances are unique, we encourage you to consult with your attorney, financial advisor, and tax professional when preparing or updating your estate plans. They can help you determine the plans that best reflect your personal, family, financial, and charitable goals.

If you decide to include The Church of the Good Samaritan in your estate plans, we hope you will let us know. Sharing your intentions allows us to express our gratitude, welcome you into The 1876 Legacy Society, and ensure that your wishes are understood.
