Assistant to the Director of Family Ministry, Dance Teacher
Elrena Evans (MFA, Penn State) is the mother of five children, and has been a member of Good Samaritan and the Good Samaritan Dance Choir since 1990. Elrena is passionate about advocating for children with special needs, and embracing welcome in the church. She believes the messiness of life can teach us to see the beauty of God in unexpected places.
An author, an editor, and a dancer, her most recent books are When I Go to Church, I Belong and Special Grace: Prayers and Reflections for Families with Special Needs, both from InterVarsity Press. When not parenting, writing, or dancing, she enjoys being outdoors, walking with friends, reading, making spreadsheets, and scanning plants in her so-called garden to try to figure out which ones are the weeds. She doesn't have a favorite ice cream flavor because she loves (almost) all of them.
