Ginny Guyer

Assistant to the Financial Administrator

Ginny grew up in Newtown Square and starting attending Good Samaritan in 1974. She moved to Paoli to be nearer to the church before buying a house in Malvern where she has lived over 30 years with various cats, dogs, birds, and a chinchilla. For nearly two years she also helped raise her grand-nephew Conner.

A graduate of Immaculata University, Ginny earned her BA with a double major in Public Relations and Written Communication, and a minor in Theology.

Ginny worked at several not-for-profit organizations prior to retirement in 2020, including Scripture Union, American Bible Society, and Eastern University. Much of that time was spent working as part of the support team in Major Gifts and Planned Giving, becoming a Charitable Gift Annuity Specialist, and sending out MANY bulk mailings.

Although currently retired from full-time work, she has two part-time jobs: at Good Sam assisting Betsy Wolford, and as a Companion Caregiver for First Light Home Care.

In her 50-plus years of service at Good Sam she has always been an active participant, taking part in ALPHA, Cursillo, Faith Alive, Women In Discipleship (WID), VBS, Children’s Ministry, Youth Group leadership, Dakota Days/Fair Days, Red Cross Bloodmobile, Home Groups, Altar Guild, Dance Choir, Vestry, Daughters of the King (DOK), Acolytes, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Healing Prayer, Bell Choir, Insight Women’s Ministry, and Good Works (as a Prayer Ambassador). During that time she served faithfully in the church nursery for 43 years. (Hence her reputation as “Baby Whisperer”!) She will be part of a Mission Team to Bolivia this summer.

Ginny LOVES Jesus and coffee, and can often be found at the YMCA taking classes in TRX, BodyPump, and other strength-building activities. She also enjoys travel, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and music of all sorts, and looks forward to any kind of adventure!
