Rick was appointed Interim Music Director in 2010 and Music Director in 2012. Prior to that, he had been bass soloist/section leader since 1989. He remains an active soloist and has appeared with the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theater Company, St. Petersburg Opera, St. Louis Winter Opera, and Opera Delaware.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, from which he holds both an Artist’s Diploma and a Certificate for Advanced Vocal Studies, Rick has been a featured soloist with Philadelphia Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, The Fort Worth Symphony, The Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia, Delaware Symphony, Tulsa Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, Pennsylvania Symphonia, and Hilton Head Orchestra. In addition, he was a soloist with the Curtis Orchestra at the Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland under the direction of Maestro Kurt Masur. Rick taught voice at Valley Forge Christian College from 2004 through 2023. He also currently maintains a small private voice studio.
Rick began additionally serving as parish administrator in August 2023.
