About Us
Worship Style
We provide multiple opportunities for worship, from traditional (7:30 am and 9 am) to contemporary (11:15 am), with a range of musical styles. You will see clothing types from casual to business professional.
Liturgy
Our services include songs, Bible readings, prayers for ourselves and others, a sermon, and communion. The traditional services have an opening procession and sing hymns, while our contemporary service has a worship band.
Communion
All baptized Christians, no matter their denomination, are welcome to receive Communion. Those who are not baptized Christians are encouraged to come forward to receive a blessing.
Reverence
You may notice some movement by other worshippers—standing, kneeling, perhaps making the sign of the cross. If you are new to a tradition that uses formal prayers and liturgy, we encourage you to participate without any concern for “doing things correctly.”
Guidance
Everything you need to know to fully participate in our services will be provided to you in a detailed worship leaflet or on overhead screens. In addition, we provide a “Wrapper,” providing a reflective essay and details about announcements and upcoming events.
Connect
We are so glad you visited or are considering making The Church of the Good Samaritan your church home. We would love to know you and to share more about opportunities to get involved in our community.
Our Mission
Worship in the Great Tradition of the Church
That anchored by the Church’s historic liturgy, the Scriptures would be truly preached and the Sacraments faithfully administered, so that we may be ever strengthened by the truth of the Apostolic Faith.
Grow Disciples of Jesus Christ
That we would intentionally guide people to salvation through Jesus Christ, equipping and nurturing every member to walk in the abundant life of full and deep relationship with God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in daily life.
Serve Others
That this parish would live out its namesake parable, caring for those in need—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Raise up Christian Leaders for the Renewal of the Church
That God might continue to use this parish to raise up lay and ordained leaders for the renewal of the Church throughout the Anglican Communion to the glory of his Name and the benefit of his Holy Church.
What We Believe
- We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the revealed Word of God containing all things necessary to Christian life and practice.
- We worship one God in three Persons, praying to the Father through the Son by the Holy Spirit.
- We take part in the Sacraments ordained by Christ himself, through the ministry of the apostolic orders.
- We are an integral part of the one Body of Christ composed of Churches which, united under the headship of Jesus, are in the fellowship of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church throughout the ages.
- We believe in the apostolic succession of bishops.
- We hold the one Faith revealed in Holy Scripture, and defined in the creeds as established by the seven Great Ecumenical Councils.
- We belong to the worldwide Anglican Communion under the leadership of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
- We pray for the healing of the Church’s divisions and for the reunification of the Body of Christ.
